PARKHURST FOREST I.O.W.
Parkhurst is a beautiful deciduous forest that lies on ancient ground. It is said that being central to the island, it was a meeting place for the Druids and it has a powerful energy with many magical trees.
The Silver Birch is called “The Lady of the Woods”, and there are many groves of Silver Birch scattered throughout the Forest. It is one of the most feminine of British trees. The gleaming silvery bark is a hallmark of Faery : a tree of enchantment. Silver Birch is dedicated to the Norse goddess, Frigga, who had 11 handmaidens . They aided her in the care of humanity. Birch “water” is still collected in some regions, by tapping into the bark, (for two days) when the sap is rising. This decoction has great healing attributes.
